Mark David Hunter is an AV Preeminent® rated attorney who manages HTFL’s Miami, Florida office, bringing over 20 years of experience to his practice. Mr. Hunter oversees the firm's Securities/Regulatory Enforcement and Investigations, Securities Litigation/Arbitration, Broker-Dealer and Investment Adviser Compliance, White Collar Criminal Defense, Governmental Investigations, and Commercial Litigation/Arbitration practice groups. His extensive background includes serving as an Enforcement Attorney in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Miami Regional Office and as an Assistant District Attorney in the Rackets/Economic Crimes Division in New York City. He also served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve Judge Advocate General Corps, experiences that laid the groundwork for his current legal focus.

Beyond his firm responsibilities, Mr. Hunter contributes to legal education as an Adjunct Professor at Florida International University’s (FIU) College of Law. There, he teaches courses on "SEC Investigations" and “White Collar Crime,” integrating his practical experience into academic instruction. His commitment to alternative dispute resolution is evident through his long-standing role as an Arbitrator for both the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and National Futures Association (NFA) arbitration forums, a position he has held for over 15 years. Additionally, Mr. Hunter served for seven years on the NASDAQ’s Listings Qualifications Panel, where he presided over appeals concerning listing and delisting issues for NASDAQ-listed companies, rendering decisions critical to their market presence.

Mark Hunter is admitted to the bars in New York, Washington D.C., and Florida, and is authorized to practice in numerous federal courts across the United States and in Puerto Rico. His practice involves frequent appearances in SEC and FINRA administrative/disciplinary forums, as well as in American Arbitration Association (AAA), International Centre for Dispute Resolution (ICDR), and JAMS arbitration forums for private disputes.
