About Mark Chalos
For more than 28 years, Mark Chalos has represented individuals who have suffered catastrophic personal injuries & families whose loved ones died due to wrongdoing. To help fight the opioids catastrophe, Mark represents counties, cities, Native American tribes, & health benefit providers in litigation that seeks to make our communities safer. Mark served on the trial team that successfully tried a bellwether trial in the national opioids litigation. Mark has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for his clients in settlements. He has also held wrong-doers accountable through trials in federal and state courts across the country, including representing children who were videotaped undressing in a locker room (jury verdict) & a woman who suffered a severe brain injury (jury verdict). Mark recovered an $8 million arbitration award for a business client. Mark has been appointed to leadership roles in numerous complex civil cases, including Co-Lead MDL Counsel in In re: Generac Solar Power Systems Marketing Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation, MDL No. 3078; Co-Lead MDL Counsel, In re Evenflo Co., Inc. Marketing, Sales Practices and Products Liability Litigation (child booster seats), MDL 2938 (D. Mass); Co-Lead MDL Counsel and Co-Lead Trial Counsel, In re Whirlpool Front Loading Washer Products Liability Litigation, MDL 2001 (N.D. Ohio); and Co-Lead Interim Class Counsel, Miller v. Ford (engine failures), Case No. 2:20-cv-01796 (E.D. Ca). He also represents clients in centralized litigations nationwide. An active member of the legal community, Mark served as president of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association and co-chair of the American Association for Justice Class Action Litigation Section. He has testified twice before the Federal Civil Rules Committee regarding proposed rule changes. Mark serves on the adjunct faculty at Vanderbilt Law School, teaching “The Practice of Aggregate Litigation.” He is an author & frequent speaker nationwide on civil litigation. He is a go-to resource for local & national media outlets including New York Times, AP, CNN, Fox News, Tennessean, CBS News, & MSNBC. Mark lives in Nashville & serves of the board of Tennessee Innocence Project.
