Mark Baker

Mark Baker is an attorney in private practice in Brandon. He was admitted to the Mississippi Bar in 1987 and is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in the State of Mississippi, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. Mark is a member and past president of the Rankin County Bar Association and the Rankin County Rotary Club. Mark previously served as the prosecutor for the city of Brandon and the municipal judge for the town of Pelahatchie and currently serves as the board attorney for the city of Brandon and the town of Puckett. Mark is a member of the Rankin County Republican Executive Committee. Mark's law practice is primarily focused in the areas of real estate and business transactions, estates, general litigation, and government/administration. Mark is a former member of the Mississippi House of Representatives, first elected in 2004, and reelected in 2008, 2012, and 2015. Mark served in the legislature until 2020. Representative Baker served as the Republican Leader in the Mississippi House of Representatives from 2008-2012. Representative Baker was Chairman of the House Judiciary En Banc and Judiciary A Committees for 8 years and served on many committees including Appropriations and Ways and Means. Mark is the owner of Brandon Insurance Services, a full service property and casualty independent insurance agency. Mark is also the principal of Keystone Strategies, a government relations firm, focusing on legislative, state, county and municipal issues. Mark was born on May 13, 1962 and is married to the former Lady Collins, an English teacher at Brandon High School. They have one son, Chase, who is a pubic policy major at the University of Mississippi. The Bakers are members of Lakeside Presbyterian Church.
