After a long sabbatical due to being hacked on Linked In, I am back. Apparently, a fraudulent Linked In request that appeared to be from me to "investigate a job opportunity to earn extra money in your spare time", was sent to many colleagues and friends. I deeply apologize for the imposition and intrusion. As a result I got locked out of my account and just now took the time to obtain a new password to update my account. I have been happily practicing law with Jim Clifford, Jim Debelius and Jerry Hyatt since 2014, which is where I began my legal career back in the 1980's. It's been wonderful to be back home. In the meantime, my own life experiences and my clients needs have taught me some valuable lessons that I believe have made me a better lawyer, as I believe you can never stop learning. Both continuing education to remain current in the necessary academics and legal changes in the areas of focus combined with application of practical experiences only benefits our clients. I enjoy my estate and trust planning practice as well as the probate, trust administration, guardianship work, trustee sales and commercial and residential real estate transactions immensely. I feel that it is an opportunity to be proactive by truly helping people and their families by outlining what their financial, medical and even sentimental needs or wishes are for the benefit of themselves and their survivors so that they are prepared for unexpected emergencies or to protect their assets for future generations. I also am a trained mediator, so I get my greatest satisfaction out of making clients wishes very clear to avoid unnecessary controversy while clients are living, if they ever become disabled temporarily or permanently or after they pass away, My greatest joy and my first priority is my family. I know how important it is to preserve your family legacy by creating an orderly estate plan that ensures peaceful probate of an estate or administration of a trust. Because I also have an extensive real estate background, I go the extra step to make sure your trust is properly funded by handling deed conveyances to your trusts in the states in which I practice ( MD & DC) or facilitating the same in other jurisdictions. We work with your financial planner or bank to assist with any funding necessary with regard to other assets.
