Lois Kosch

My practice emphasizes the litigation of harassment, discrimination, wrongful termination, and wage and hour matters under both California and federal law. This includes defense of both single plaintiff cases and class actions. In addition to litigation, I regularly counsel employers on employment-related issues that range from hiring to firing of employees, including writing and reviewing policies and handbooks, analyzing adverse impact and advising employers on mass layoffs, conducting and overseeing investigations, conducting HR-related audits (including analysis of proper classification of employees as either exempt or non-exempt), and advising clients on disciplinary actions and terminations. I represent clients of all sizes and in most industry sectors including national employers in the health care, pharmaceutical, retail and telecommunications industries. My firm handles litigation throughout the State of California. In addition to my employment practice I serve as an arbitrator and mediator of employment disputes including those alleging FEHA or Title VII violations and wage and hour claims. I am a member of the American Arbitration Association's Employment Panel and am a volunteer mediator for the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing.
