About Lindsey Sweet
A native of Kennett Square, PA, I became interested in immigration law while volunteering at La Comunidad Hispana (now LCH) in high school. After living and studying in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico, I became fluent in Spanish and knew that my calling would be to serve the immigrant community. In 2003, I graduated with degrees in Political Science and Spanish from Haverford College. I then worked with the PA Migrant Education Program for 4 years where I provided supplemental education to the children of migrant farm workers in Chester County. I advocated for and guided migrant children through US educational and legal systems. I designed, implemented and supervised academic/character education programs, including a gang prevention soccer team and career exploration program for pre-teen boys which now has 800 members. I administrated and taught workshops for over 100 families and directed a summer program for over 300 students in the Kennett Consolidated School District. The Chester County Intermediate Unit awarded me the 2006 Outstanding Service Award. At Rutgers University School of Law-Newark, I was a Peggy Browning Fund Fellow, which funded my legal work with Justice at Work (formerly Friends of Farmworkers, Inc.) in Philadelphia, PA. There, I provided legal outreach in Spanish to indigent farm workers across PA regarding their legal rights as employees. I also provided immigration legal services to the immigrant communities of Newark, NJ with American Friends Service Committee. I have been licensed to practice law in PA and NJ since 2009. After broadening my immigration law experience with Nationalities Service Center in the greater Philadelphia region, I opened my own private practice in February 2014 where I continue to focus exclusively on Immigration and Nationality Law. In August 2014, I joined forces with Attorney Anna Paciorek to form Sweet & Paciorek, LLC. Sweet & Paciorek, LLC has offices in Center City Philadelphia and Avondale, PA and serves clients worldwide in their US immigration law needs.
