I am licensed in North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida & Georgia. I have been a practicing attorney since 1994. I primarily handle first party insurance coverage and bad faith matters for insurers, as well as third party coverage and casualty defense matters, including representation of gig economy entities. I hold Martindale-Hubbell's AV rating from my peers, indicating the highest ethical standards and professional ability. I am a member and North Carolina State Chair of the ADTA. I serve on the Board of the Western North Carolina Chapter of The CLM. I also belong to the Windstorm Insurance Network (WIND), the Southern Loss Association, and the North Carolina Bar Association Insurance Law Council. I re-located to Butler's Charlotte, NC office in 2010 after 9+ years in our Miami, FL office, including extensive Hurricane work arising from the 2004-05 storms and various personal injury and defense cases. I primarily practice in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia these days, although I do maintain my Florida license. Prior to joining Butler, I litigated liability disputes as part of Nationwide Insurance Company's in-house Trial Division, and served as an Assistant City Attorney in the City of Atlanta Law Department.
