Laurie Wasserman

I am a fierce advocate and compassionate advisor, dedicated to helping my clients regain control in some of life’s most challenging situations. My practice covers various family law services, including divorce, child custody, alimony, child support, and marital settlement agreements. I also offer mediation services and assist families in crafting parenting plans, cohabitation agreements, and prenuptial or postnuptial agreements. My approach is grounded in empathy and strategic thinking, particularly when dealing with complex cases involving multiple properties and estate planning. I work closely with clients to develop creative solutions tailored to their specific needs, whether navigating the division of assets or negotiating child custody and support agreements. My goal is to empower clients, helping them feel secure and confident in the decisions that shape their future. I’m particularly passionate about representing LGBTQIA+ individuals and families, ensuring they receive the legal support they deserve. Additionally, I have extensive experience representing minor children in family law matters, always advocating for their best interests in custody and support cases. My services extend beyond litigation. I offer mediation and conflict resolution for those who seek to resolve family disputes outside of the courtroom. Whether it’s a separation agreement, contempt proceedings, or a more amicable mediation process, I guide families toward the best possible outcome with dignity and respect. Outside of my legal practice, I enjoy spending time with my family and giving back to the community. I’m actively involved in several organizations, including volunteering with Disability Rights Maryland, where I previously served on the Board of Directors.
