About Laura Nowinski
I am a family law attorney with the Law Offices of Steven K. Deig, LLC, where I have practiced since 2010. I am a Newburgh native and am proud to serve the Southern Indiana community I grew up in and continue to call home. I have been recognized as an Indiana Super Lawyers® Rising Star in 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2026, and received a Super Lawyers designation in 2026. These recognitions reflect my commitment to diligent, practical, and results-oriented representation. My practice focuses on family law matters, including divorce, post-divorce modification and enforcement, paternity, child support, contempt proceedings, adoption, guardianships, and Qualified Domestic Relations Orders (QDROs). I also handle estate planning matters, including wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives My litigation experience ranges from managing high-asset divorce cases to drafting agreements that have been amicably reached between parties. I regularly represent clients who are business owners or who have interests in family trusts, land, or inheritance issues tied to their dissolution matters. I have extensive experience working with Guardians ad Litem, parenting coordinators, and therapists in complex cases involving parenting time and custody disputes, and I take a pragmatic, child-focused approach in these matters. I approach my work with diligence, persistence, accessibility, and compassion. I understand the stress, uncertainty, and emotional weight that family-law matters place on individuals and families, and I take seriously the responsibility clients place in me when they ask for my help. It is a privilege to guide clients through some of the most challenging periods of their lives while providing clear communication, steady advocacy, and practical solutions. In addition to my legal practice, I served as a remote adjunct professor of Paralegal Studies at Rio Salado College, where I taught Civil Litigation for approximately seven years. I have also been featured on the Old National Bank podcast discussing financial empowerment and the intersection of divorce, estate planning, and related legal matters. Outside of work, I am a mom of two and an animal lover. Our household includes a Great Dane who firmly believes he is a lap dog, along with two bunnies. Both of my daughters volunteer with me at the Warrick Humane Society, allowing us to give back together to a cause that matters to our family.
