Employees are a critical business asset, and a potential liability. At every stage of the employment relationship there are opportunities to avoid legal pitfalls. I work with clients to understand and minimize employee-related risks, protect the company and, when disputes arise, find the best possible result for the business. In today's world, though, it's not just a company's own employees that require focus. It's also important to focus on recruits and workers that are provided by third parties. I am finding that more and more of my practice is focused on staffing and recruiting relationships -- both working with staffing and placement firms to ensure that their legal framework supports their business plan and working with users of staffing and placement services to ensure that their staffing relationships appropriately allocate risk and benefit.
