He recently obtained a full defense verdict in a business dispute involving ownership and control of a family owned business and $89 million dollars in claims against his client. Additionally, Mr. Lederer provides advice to FM companies on aspects of their contractual agreements by positioning the FM company to reduce or eliminate costs associated with the defense of civil litigation and also mitigating risk through the drafting of enforceable contractual defense and indemnification provisions with their subcontractors. He has effectively assisted clients and their insurers in accomplishing their risk management goals by reducing legal costs through reimbursement of fees and expenses while also obtaining insurance coverage for losses in scores of cases. Examples of such cases handled by our team include: - Obtained reimbursement of over $75K in legal fees as well as continuing defense and indemnity for the client, a facility management company, and their customer, a national retail chain, in the underlying litigation. The underlying claim involved potential amputation of the plaintiff's foot and eventually settled for seven figures with no contribution from our client or their customer. - Obtained reimbursement of over $65K in legal fees on behalf of FM client and their customer, a national supermarket chain. Pursuit of the underlying claim forced the subcontractor to settle with the plaintiff w/out contribution from the client or their customer. - Favorably arbitrated over 125 disputes on behalf of clients with a success rate over 95%.
