Larry Coppel

I founded and led Gordon Feinblatt's Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group until I retired from the firm in 2020, During my tenure at Gordon Feinblatt, I maintained a diverse practice in complex business bankruptcy and workout cases. I have extensive experience representing lenders, debtors, creditors’ committees, trustees, receivers and other parties in bankruptcy and state court insolvency proceedings and matters. I am one of four active practitioners in Maryland who is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy. I am also a Fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation and have received recognition for my practice in every edition of The Best Lawyers in America since its first publication. I was named by Best Lawyers in America as the 2013 Baltimore "Lawyer of the Year" in Litigation - Bankruptcy. I am the founder and was the first President of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland. I previously served as Chair of the Banking, Bankruptcy and Business Law Committee of the Baltimore City Bar Association. Additionally, I was a member of the Panel of Trustees for the District of Maryland from 1979 to 1992 and hold a membership in the American Bankruptcy Institute. I am a member of the faculty of the annual MSBA Advanced Bankruptcy Institute and am a frequent lecturer at other bankruptcy programs. While I have retired from Gordon Feinblatt, I am available for consultations and to handle selected matters including court appointments.
