Mr. Coppel is the founder and first President of the Bankruptcy Bar Association for the District of Maryland. He also served as Chair of the Banking, Bankruptcy and Business Law Committee of the Baltimore City Bar Association. From 1979 to 1992, he was a member of the Panel of Trustees for the District of Maryland and holds a membership in the American Bankruptcy Institute. He is a member of the faculty of the annual MSBA Advanced Bankruptcy Institute and frequently lectures at other bankruptcy programs.
