Lance Gotko

I head the firm's Employment Practice Group, and also represent both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. My employment-related work regularly includes negotiating employment agreements and separation agreements; advising in connection with the movement of groups of executives to new places of employment; litigating matters related to compensation disputes, breaches of non-compete agreements and employment contracts, misappropriation of trade secrets (including computer source code), and breaches of fiduciary duty; representing individuals both in internal investigations and in proceedings brought by various regulatory and government agencies such as the Securities & Exchange Commission and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA); and advising companies on a wide range of employment-related issues, including termination of employees, discrimination claims, internal investigations of employment-related matters, and compliance with federal, state, and local laws. My complex commercial litigation work has spanned a wide variety of industries and areas, involving a host of issues including business torts; partnership breakups; common-law and securities fraud; professional liability; claims of undue influence in connection with lifetime transfers of family wealth; and RICO claims.
