Kimberly Blackwell

Kimberly D. Bishop is the founder of The Bishop Law Firm, serving clients across North Carolina in Social Security Disability (SSDI/SSI), Personal Injury, and Workers’ Compensation cases. She is a North Carolina State Bar Board Certified Social Security Disability Law Specialist. Her practice focuses on representing individuals in claims involving insurance disputes, denied disability benefits, and workplace injuries—situations where the process can feel like an unfair fight against the system. Since beginning her legal career in 2009, Kimberly has represented clients before Administrative Law Judges in Raleigh, Greensboro, Fayetteville, and Charlotte, as well as before the Appeals Council and in Federal Court. In 2013, she founded The Bishop Law Firm in Raleigh, where she continues to advocate for injured and disabled individuals across North Carolina. Kimberly previously worked with the North Carolina Department of Justice and is a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice and the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives. She is admitted to practice in the Eastern and Middle Districts of the United States District Court. Originally from Salisbury, North Carolina, Kimberly earned her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and her law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has wanted to be a lawyer since she was nine years old and continues to live that vision by helping clients navigate complex legal systems and move forward with their lives.
