Kenneth Wachtel

I have practiced law since 1976. I worked in the legal department of Bank of America for over 5 years and then at a mid sized San Francisco Law firm where I was the senior litigator and head of the litigation department until January 2010. My principal expertise is in litigation involving creditors' rights, bankruptcy, real property, land use and employment issues. I was a member of the Mill Valley Planning Commission for six years and president of the Mill Valley Soccer Club for four years. I am currently on the board of directors of the Mill Valley Little League. Representative clients include credit card processing companies, financial institutions, real estate developers, other small businesses and individuals. I was elected to the Mill Valley City Council in 2007 and was Mayor of Mill Valley in 2011 and again in 2015. I was also a director on the board of the Richardson's Bay Regional Authority, the Marin County Joint Powers Authority Oversight Committee, and Marin County Community Development Block Grant Program. Specialties: Specialized experience in litigation and arbitration involving financial institutions, employment, bankruptcy (creditors only) and real estate and land use planning issues. I have appeared before state and federal civil trial and appellate courts, arbitrators, mediators and administrative commissions such as boards of appeals, planning commissions, design review boards, zoning administrators and city councils.
