About Kate Marr
I’ve spent my entire career in legal aid, first as a staff attorney representing survivors of domestic violence and other violent crimes, then as managing attorney, and since 2017 as executive director of Community Legal Aid SoCal. Over the years, I’ve focused on building legal services that are not only accessible, but thoughtful, strategic, and rooted in the realities of the people we serve. As executive director, I’ve led a shift toward a client-centered, outcome-driven approach to service delivery – one that supports staff and creates space for professional growth while staying responsive to evolving community needs. After more than two decades in this work, I remain inspired by the impact this work can have on families and by the shared commitment of colleagues working together to create a more just and equitable legal system.
