Ms. Coleman, a preeminent AV rated attorney, litigates cases in state and federal court Ms. Coleman also has appellate experience at both the federal and state levels, including drafting amicus briefs to the US Supreme Court. Ms. Coleman has a wide range of experience in professional malpractice defense; complex civil litigation, including class actions; commercial litigation; creditors rights; and defense of consumer rights actions, including FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA and call recording cases. Ms. Coleman has also represented attorneys sued for malpractice and similar claims, as well as disciplinary matters in front of the California State Bar. Ms. Coleman has also represented clients regarding compliance issues and audits, including issues arising under the CFPB and attorneys general. Ms. Coleman is a frequent speaker regarding the FDCPA, the FCRA, TCPA, call recording, and other issues important to the financial services industry, especially for the California Association of Collectors, the American Collectors Association and its associated MAP group of attorneys, the National Creditors Bar Association, and the California Creditors Bar Association. She has also provided training and compliance advice and audits for collectors regarding the obligations set forth in the FDCPA, California’s Rosenthal FDCPA, the FCRA, the TCPA, and other obligations for persons in the financial services industry, among others. Ms. Coleman was selected to the Super Lawyer list for Northern California since 2008. Ms. Coleman was selected by the Sacramento Business Journal as one of the top lawyers in the Sacramento Region in 2013-2016 and a top lawyer by the Sacramento Magazine in 2013-2017. Ms. Coleman was also recognized as one of the foremost women in the collection industry by the ACA and recognized by the NCBA for her contributions to the creditors rights field.
