About Judge Goetz
Judge Goetz joined JAMS as a full-time neutral in March 2020. She began her alternative dispute resolution practice in 2015 and has successfully mediated and arbitrated hundreds of estate/probate/trust and family law matters. Her vast experience includes high-value trust, sensitive conservatorship and family matters for high-profile individuals, as well as complex trials as a judge pro tem. She also serves as a discovery referee, parenting plan coordinator and arbitrator. She developed expertise in Probate (7.5 years) and Family Law (7.5 years) as a Judge and Commissioner with the Los Angeles Superior Court. Her career on the bench began in 1991 when she was appointed as a Commissioner with the Malibu Municipal Court handling all matters, including Civil (jury and bench trials), Criminal (jury and bench trials), Small Claims, Unlawful Detainers, and Traffic matters. Prior to her career as a judicial officer, Judge Goetz served as a Deputy District Attorney. Her last assignment was with the Major Fraud Unit, taking advantage of her expertise as an accountant and financial analyst. Before embarking on her legal career, Judge Goetz was employed as and Accountant, Auditor, and Financial Analyst.
