Juan Chaves

I’m a U.S. attorney based in Prague, advising businesses and individuals on cross-border legal matters with a focus on corporate law, regulatory compliance, and U.S. immigration. With bar admissions in both the United States and the Czech Republic, I help clients navigate the legal and business landscapes on both sides of the Atlantic. My practice centers on supporting European entities entering the U.S. market, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements while achieving their commercial goals. I advise clients ranging from multinational corporations and travel companies to insurers and private investors. I have extensive experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements—particularly share/asset purchase agreements, startup investment deals, tech and IP licenses, and SaaS contracts. I also specialize in data protection (including GDPR compliance), corporate governance of cross-border entities, and insurance law. In the immigration space, I guide individuals, businesses, and investors through complex U.S. immigration processes, drawing on my prior experience as legal counsel for the U.S. government in matters of immigration, national security, and criminal law. Previously, I served as in-house counsel at Honeywell International Inc., managing hundreds of legal entities and overseeing their compliance across the EU and other international markets. I have represented clients in both federal and state courts in Florida and California and have advised on multistate corporate operations across the U.S., including in Delaware, New York, Ohio, and beyond.
