Joseph Boufadel

Joseph is Certified Specialist in Bankruptcy Law from the State Bar of California, Board of Legal Specialization. His practice focuses in several areas: Joseph is a litigator, handling business and corporate issues, contractual disputes, and related business and partnership divorces in both state and federal court. When not handling litigation or related appeals, Joseph helps creditors navigate and protect their interests in bankruptcy, including prosecuting and defending litigation and contested matters in bankruptcy court. On the other side, we assist in strategic bankruptcy planning for both individuals and businesses and help clients restructure their debt. We: • Provide strategic pre-bankruptcy planning in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 cases for businesses and individuals, including matters involving state court litigation, bankruptcy avoidance, out of court workouts and corporate dissolutions • Represent clients in fraudulent transfer matters, preference defense, non-dischargeability actions, relief from stay, objections to discharge, lien priority disputes and related insolvency matters • Prosecute and defend actions in state and federal court, handling a wide range of litigation matters from contractual and real estate disputes, secured transactions, business-to-business conflicts, foreclosures, and fraud-related actions • Represent clients in state, federal and bankruptcy appeals. Our appellate practice has resulted in many successful appeals and published opinions before the California Court of Appeal, United States District Court, the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel, and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
