About Jose Mendoza
Jose A. Mendoza serves as In-House Litigation Counsel with Compass International Holdings, bringing more than 29 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate transactions and litigation. His practice focuses on construction defect claims, real estate transaction disputes, professional liability, wrongful foreclosure, and broader business litigation matters.Mr. Mendoza has built his career on delivering efficient and strategic legal representation. He is highly experienced in all phases of litigation, including law and motion, discovery, mediation, arbitration, and trial. In addition to his litigation practice, he counsels clients on risk management and regularly conducts training seminars for real estate agents and brokers aimed at minimizing litigation exposure.Prior to his current role, Mr. Mendoza was a senior trial attorney at Carlson Law Group and previously served as senior counsel at Klinedinst.Following the merger of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Company with Compass International Holdings—creating one of the nation’s largest and most established real estate brokerages—Mr. Mendoza played a key role in the Los Angeles office. There, he managed and defended claims involving real estate brokers throughout Southern California. He also designed and implemented an internal training program for licensed agents.Mr. Mendoza earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 1996 and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles (1992).He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell, serves as an update author for Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB), and is an Advisor to the California Lawyers Association Real Property Law Section Executive Committee. He is also a member of the California Association of Realtors’ Legal Affairs Forum and is a member of the UCLA Parent's Council.
