I am a Founder, Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel who is passionate about managing and building legal and business teams, scaling high-growth companies, creating process improvements, and driving innovation. As a strategic business partner, I advise boards of directors, executive teams, and stakeholders on complex business and legal issues across energy, technology, intellectual property, brand protection, labor and employment, regulatory, security and privacy, risk, investment and financial transactions.My career has included founding and serving on the senior leadership team for multiple energy and technology companies. At SmartVentureAI, I rose into multiple legal roles to ultimately serve as Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel where I counseled the executive team on governance and compliance matters, implemented organizational restructuring strategies, drafted and negotiated a range of contracts and agreements, oversaw various mergers and acquisitions and developed strategies to enter emerging markets. As lead products counsel, I work at the intersection of law and technology, being at the edge of emerging technologies such as Web3 and AI.For over a decade I have legal functions as remote-first and AI-native, particular through The Rhodes Law Firm where I represent founders and companies in a diverse range of industries. This work includes transactions and risk management, regulatory advocacy before city, state and federal authorities, as well as dispute resolution and litigation in state and federal courts. When not advising on innovation, I can be found traveling, surfing and otherwise enjoying life with my family.
