John Trimble

John maintains a law practice of complex and catastrophic litigation in the State and Federal Courts. He litigates insurance coverage disputes, bad faith, lawyer and insurance agent malpractice, business litigation, and injuries or death caused by all types of risks, including trucking, construction, product liability, fires, and governmental liability. He has argued appeals in the State and Federal appellate courts as counsel for a party and as counsel for lawyer and trade groups. He has appeared in more than 25 jurisdictions, and is frequently hired by out-of-state firms to serve as local counsel in Indiana. In the last 25 years, John has become one of Indiana's most sought after mediators. Because of the complexity of his practice, John keeps mediation to a manageable level, but he is often hired by judges and lawyers to mediate Indiana's largest and highest profile cases. He also serves as an arbitrator in bodily injury, business dissolution, employment, and commercial disputes. John has long distinguished himself as a bar leader. He has been president of the state defense bar, and was named Defense Lawyer of the Year in 1991. He has also served on the Board of Directors of DRI, the largest national association of defense lawyers. In 2000, DRI named John its outstanding defense bar leader of the year. More recently, John has chaired DRI's national Judicial Task Force to offer recommendations on how DRI can assist in maintaining a fair and impartial judiciary. John has repeatedly been listed in state polls of attorneys as one of the top lawyers. From 2004-2013 he has been selected for inclusion in Indiana Super Lawyers. In 2009 and 2010 he was voted one of Indiana's top 10 Indiana Super Lawyers, received the second highest point total in 2010, and the highest point total in 2011, 2012, and 2013. He was also selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America® 2010-2013 in the fields of Insurance Law; Personal Injury Litigation - Defendants.
