I've spent 15+ years representing people at the worst moments of their lives. From mesothelioma victims to families who lost someone in a car crash, from workers seriously injured on a job site who didn't know what came next to to everyday people who just needed someone in their corner when the system felt stacked against them. Every one of those cases reminded me why this work matters. In 2019, my partner Keith Vona and I took a leap and started Richmond Vona. We didn't have all the answers. We just knew we wanted to build something different — a firm where culture and client experience weren't afterthoughts, it’s mission critical. A place where people are empowered to grow, do the right thing, and show up for clients the way they'd want someone to show up for their own family. We've been lucky that it's resonated. We've been named to the Inc. 5000 twice, recognized as one of Inc. Magazine's Best Workplaces, and our team has recovered over $200M for injury victims across New York State. None of that happens without an incredible group of people who care deeply about what they do. Building that team, and watching them grow into leaders themselves, is what drives me as much as anything we do in the courtroom. I'm passionate about leadership, learning every day, and about helping the next generation of lawyers find their footing in this profession. It's one of the most rewarding parts of the job.
