LACERA adminsters and manages the retirement fund for the County of Los Angeles. We serve more than 158,000 members comprised of active County employees and retirees We are an independent governmental entity, seperate and distinct from the County of Los Angeles. Our fiduciary responsibility is to promote, enhance, and efficiently admisniter a financially sound retirement and health care benefits program through prudent investment. LACERA has been providing retirement, disability, and death benefits to eligible County employees, retirees and their beneficiairies since 1938 and admininistering a retiree health care benefits program since 1971. LACERA's Legal Office provides legal advice to all the departments of LACERA.
