Jil Dalesandro

Jil provides advice to businesses concerning all aspects of employment law, including hiring issues, employment manuals, evaluations, leave issues, discipline, records, severance, wage, termination, and unemployment-related issues. She assists employers and individuals in negotiating employment, confidentiality, proprietary information, independent contractor, licensing, and severance/release agreements. Jil has extensive litigation experience in all areas of employment law, and in general civil litigation matters and has represented clients before the California Department of Fair Employment and Housing, the California Department of Labor Standards Enforcement, the California Employment Development Department, California Superior Courts, California Courts of Appeal, Federal Courts, the American Arbitration Association, JAMS/Endispute, and private arbitrators/mediators. Since 1997, Jil has acted as a private arbitrator/mediator in employment and business, real estate, intellectual property, probate, and general civil litigation matters. Jil also serves as a public arbitrator/mediator for the Santa Clara County Superior Court’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel, is a Settlement Judge pro tempore, and a Judge pro tempore (Small Claims) Santa Clara County Courts. Jil provides seminars and lectures for clients in sexual harassment prevention (AB1825) and investigation training, as well as all other aspects of employment law. Jil was the 2009 President of the Santa Clara County Bar Association and served on its Board of Trustees from 2007 through 2012. She serves in its ADR, Fee Arbitration, Employment Law and Business Litigation Sections, Civil Practice Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, and Women Lawyers Executive Committee. She is a founding member of the Assisted Settlement Conference Pilot Program for the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. She is a member of the California State Bar Executive ADR Committee.
