Jessica Smith

Jessica Smith received her bachelor’s degree in 2009 from Hofstra University (B.A., Political Science). She received her J.D. in 2012 from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Ms. Smith was admitted to practice in New York State in 2013. Ms. Smith was selected to the New York Metro Rising Stars list by Super Lawyers Magazine each year since 2017. She was also selected as the Top 40 Under 40 National Trial Lawyers and the National Women's Trial Lawyers Association Top 25 Attorneys, NY region for 2023. Prior to joining Slater Slater Schulman, Ms. Smith was an associate at a well-respected mass tort firm located in New York, New York. Ms. Smith is active in the Firm’s mass tort practice, concentrating in the areas of pharmaceutical liability and defective medical devices. She is currently representing clients with injuries from prescription drugs, such as Invokana and Xarelto, and defective devices, such as Transvaginal Mesh. Ms. Smith is also actively litigating cases regarding plaintiffs who suffered from various types of injuries related to the horrific events of September 11, 2001. Ms. Smith is admitted to the Bar of the State of New York and to practice before the United States District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, Western, and Northern Districts of New York.
