I’m chasing my husband and my dream of opening up PB&J Bakery & Café. We are anticipated to open in January/February 2023 in the City Food Hall in the Destin Commons! I was a practicing attorney for the last 12 years, so, I’m not quite ready to delete that part of my profile yet!: I have lived in 8 countries and visited 27. My legal background is in International Law and Policy. I spent a few years being an independent legal consultant for Go Foster!, Inc., an organization that supports recruiting and retaining quality foster parents (gofoster.org), and am still a part of the advocacy in the foster parent community. I was also a Family Law Attorney at The Foster Firm, taking on cases dealing with divorce, child custody, child support, guardianship, and adoption, for the last 7 years. My previous legal experience was within the Department of Children and Families, Children's Legal Services. I was a trial attorney for 3.5 years and during that time, I acquired the essential professional tools and experiences in order to establish safety for children and rehabilitate families. Outside of my professional life, I also have a strong commitment to giving back to my community. I have organized a benefit called "Art for a Change" two years in a row to raise money and awareness for the Waterfront Rescue Mission for the local homeless ($25,000) and Project Rescue for child sex slaves in India ($1,200).
