Jerry Behnke

Jerry Behnke is a trial lawyer and former federal and state prosecutor. He handles complex litigation and white collar criminal matters. Mr. Behnke also has more than 18 years of experience investigating and prosecuting white collar criminal cases as an Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) and as a Deputy District Attorney. Mr. Behnke previously served as an AUSA in the Southern District of California where he was a member of the Major Frauds and Special Prosecutions Section. He also served as an AUSA in the Central District of California where, for nearly eight years, he was a Deputy Chief in the Riverside branch office. Before his work as a federal prosecutor, Jerry served for five years as a Deputy District Attorney in Riverside County. Mr. Behnke has conducted more than 40 jury trials in both federal and state court, including a number of high-profile cases such as a homicide case involving the death of a US serviceman in Turkey that was one of the first trials under the Military Extraterritorial Jurisdiction Act, a trial involving fraud in connection with a $35 million education grant for programs at dozens of schools in Riverside and Los Angeles Counties, and one of the first trials in California involving DNA analysis utilizing short tandem repeats. Mr. Behnke has also handled more than two dozen appeals before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
