Jennifer Madden

Jennifer Randlett Madden works extremely closely with her clients to proactively devise effective and practical strategic employment programs to foster productive workplaces and prevent claims that could result in litigation. Clients from an extensive range of industries seek Jennifer’s representation, including higher education institutions, retail, national financial institutions, Fortune 500 companies and health care companies. Jennifer serves as outside general counsel for several of clients providing People/HR legal partnship and operating as a trusted member of the leadership team. Through employment counseling, she prepares employment handbooks, preventative training programs and conducts workplace audits to identify and correct employment-related risks/practices. Jennifer routinely provides real time advice regarding employee complaints, investigations, discipline and terminations.Jennifer recognizes when claims arise, early assessments in litigation are crucial. She engages with her clients to undertake thorough claims investigations to develop effective litigation strategies in-line with potential exposure and litigation costs. Jennifer represents business clients in state and federal courts and before state agencies to defend against all types of employment claims including claims of discrimination, wrongful termination and sexual harassment, contract actions, disputes over non-competition and confidentiality agreements, and other business torts. Jennifer brings her skill to M&A transactions, advising on due diligence and post-transaction integration and alignment. Jennifer, a Sacramento native, is active in the local community. She previously served on the Board of Fairytale Town where she spent much time as a child. She joined the Board of California Musical Theater in 2014 where she works to expand the opportunity for local children to enjoy the performing arts.
