Jennifer Jauffret

As head of my firm’s Labor and Employment Group, I represent employers in Delaware and neighboring states in matters ranging from breach of restrictive covenant litigation, to negotiating executive employment and separation agreements, to training management and employees on compliance with evolving employment laws, to litigation of all types of federal and state employment laws. For example, my practice includes litigating breach of nondisclosure, noncompetition, and nonsolicitation agreements in the Delaware Court of Chancery, defending WARN Act and other employee claims in bankruptcy court, and defending clients before the EEOC, the Department of Labor, and in federal and state courts with regard to Title VII, ADEA, ADA, FLSA, and FMLA claims. Helping employers prevent and reduce exposure to lawsuits is an important part of my practice. I advise my clients regarding employment issues arising in major corporate transactions, as well as general human resources issues such as discipline and termination situations. I’ve drafted countless employment agreements, separation agreements, noncompetition agreements, and employee handbooks. It’s crucial to keep my clients informed about changes in state and federal employment laws, and I offer frequent training sessions regarding anti-discrimination, restrictive covenants, and many other employment issues. I devote a lot of time to pro bono work, including providing legal advice to Delaware nonprofit agencies, assisting victims of domestic violence, and serving as a guardian ad litem for abused or neglected children. I was also very active in Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Wilmington, where I recently completed my nine-year term, two of which were as board chair.
