CRIMINAL DEFENSE ATTORNEY www.holleydefense.com EDUCATION: Juris Doctor McGeorge School of Law Graduated with Academic Distinction Emphasis in Criminal Justice & Trial Advocacy BA, Political Science, UCSB Summa Cum Laude, Commencement Speaker EXPERIENCE : I worked for the Federal Public Defenders for two years as a legal research/writing law clerk and subsequently a certified student attorney in the year-long misdemeanor unit. I tried federal trials and maintained a misdemeanor caseload. In addition, I interned for the Placer County and Santa Barbara Public Defenders to gain practical defense experience at the state level. My dad/mentor, served the Federal Public Defenders as zealous trial attorney for over 30 years. My sister is a county public defender. I worked for the United Nations in The Hague Holland - International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) on Crimes Against Humanity and Genocide, Trial Chambers. I assisted international judges in a trial involving a former Bosnian Serb President charged with genocide and crimes against humanity. Founder and former president of the Criminal Law Society at McGeorge School of Law. I founded the society in order to share my passion and promote criminal justice in our community. The Criminal Law Society has grown to over 40 members. I taught Public Speaking at UCSB, which provided a strong foundation in effective litigation techniques and courtroom oration. My experience in the National Moot Court Competition helped prepare me to think on my feet and argue persuasively. My year long study abroad in Ghana, West Africa, put it all in perspective. I currently work as a Private Criminal Defense Attorney and am the owner of the Law Offices of Jason R. Holley. I maintain a comprehensive Felony and Misdemeanor caseload in both Federal and State Courts. My priority is to vigorously represent my clients to ensure an exceptional defense.
