We are all going to die.The sad part is how much we hold back, as if we know how much time is left on the clock—the compliments we don't say, the questions we don't ask, the values we don't stick up for because it's risky and scary and costs something—and we think "I'll do it later."I'm working on not holding back or holding on so tight. On listening to that still, quiet voice society teaches us is too curious, too soft, too honest, too against the system.I write about the things that won't leave me alone (usually on runs, when my mind slips the leash). Oh, and I tag people and like my own comments.Somebody probably told you life is a zero-sum game. It isn't. Shouting someone else's accomplishments from the rooftops doesn't dim your light. Celebrate people, out loud, while they can hear it. Because the only sum that matters is love, and it is infinite.Somewhere below this it says I'm a lawyer. It's true, and I'm a good one.
