Janelle Kilies

I am a partner in Lewis Wagner’s employment and complex litigation groups and concentrate my practice on the defense of employment-related claims, including employment discrimination, wage disputes, wrongful termination, employment agreement disputes, unfair labor practices, and civil rights claims. I also provides proactive prevention counseling on employment issues, including drafting employment policies and practices, navigating employee discipline and termination, as well as providing advice related to the coronavirus. In addition to that, I have extensive experience in litigating mass torts and consumer class actions in the areas of product liability, consumer fraud, false advertising, and deceptive marketing claims around the country in both state and federal courts. Since joining the Firm in 2012, I have helped prepare and present several mock trials and focus group presentations in complex and serious injury cases. In the mass tort context, I helped design, develop and maintain a sophisticated online platform for the creation of a meaningful settlement matrix. I earned my J.D. cum laude from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where I served as the Notes Development Editor for the Indiana Law Review. While in law school, I was honored to be named the Indianapolis Bar Association’s 2012 Law Student of the Year.
