About Jan Copley
Jan Copley is the principal of the Pasadena Law Group. She helps her clients protect their families and their money. Jan does this by enabling her clients to use all the legal tools available to them to create estate plans that really work. Jan practiced business and estate planning from1996 through 2010. She sold her law practice and became a Certified Practice Advisor with Atticus, Inc., working with lawyers to enable them to make more money and take more time off. However, after two years of coaching lawyers, Jan realized that she missed her clients and the intellectual challenge of practicing law. Accordingly, she opened the Pasadena Law Group effective January 2013. Jan served as law clerk to the Honorable Barry Russell of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. After she completed her clerkship, Ms. Copley practiced bankruptcy law and commercial litigation in the Los Angeles area, including with the Los Angeles branch of the second-largest law firm in the United States. Ms. Copley has served as Judge Pro Tem for the Los Angeles County Unified Courts and on the Panel of Mediators for the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. My job, as your lawyer, is to help you protect your family and your money by creating an estate plan that reflects your hopes, fears, dreams and aspirations for you and your family. I also assist business owners with structuring ownership of their business in the way most advantageous to them. Finally, I am available to assist you with respect and empathy when someone near and dear to you becomes disabled or dies. My job as a law practice management coach is to help successful lawyers gain control over their lives and their practices through a structured coaching process. What's unique about me is that I've walked the walk as well as talked the talk -- I built a successful estate and business planning practice and sold it for real money.
