I focus my practice on a wide variety of employee benefits issues with an emphasis on ERISA health and welfare plans. I counsel clients on plan design, administration, and compliance issues. I guide clients through transitioning active and retired employee populations from traditional self-insured preferred provider organization (PPO) medical plans to private exchange arrangements. I negotiate long-term multi-million dollar services agreements with major retirement and welfare plan vendors.I have assisted clients with internal compliance reviews and with voluntary correction filings for fiduciary violations and plan document and administrative errors. I regularly advise public and privately held companies and private equity funds on employee benefits issues involved in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures. I also counsel clients on the employee benefits design and transitions arising from such transactions.I have experience representing clients before the U.S. Department of Labor, Internal Revenue Service, and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation. I was a participant in the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI) HIPAA Privacy and Security Employer Workgroup.
