As of December 31, 2023 , I closed my law practice in Morristown New Jersey and I am now Of Counsel with the law firm of Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost & Botwinick In Denville, New Jersey. I look forward to this relationship and welcome the opportunity to assist you and refer criminal cases to our Criminal Practice section of the firm.With over 35 years of experience in legal services, I am a passionate and committed criminal defense lawyer who ran my solo practice at JMP,LLC for over 20 years .My mission was & is to provide high-quality representation and advocacy for my clients, while upholding the principles of justice and integrity. I have extensive experience in handling complex and challenging cases, including white-collar crimes, violent offenses, drug charges, and DWIs .I have also earned multiple credentials, such as being certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Criminal Trial Attorney since 1995 and being rated as a Super Lawyer in Criminal Practice for several years including the present.In addition to my legal practice, I am also actively involved in philanthropic and community service activities. I serve as a board member and Vice President of the Bernardsville Law Enforcement Foundation, which supports the local police department and enhances public safety. I am also a long-standing member of the board of trustees of the Goryeb Pediatric Philanthropic Board, which raises funds and awareness for pediatric specialty care. Through these roles, I have leveraged my skills in oral advocacy, board governance, and strategic planning to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in need as well as public safety and awareness.Most recently, in 2024 I have embarked upon this new position with the firm of Einhorn, Barbarito, Frost and Botwinick , Nunn & Musmanno . I will be Of Counsel in the Criminal Department & work with Matthew Troiano and Allisa Hascup and Tamra Katcher.Additionally, I have released a book Unequal Justice published on October 1,2024 . The book is a candid review of 35 years as a Former Prosecutor and Criminal Defense counsel’s career from both sides of counsel table and the tipping of the scales of justice in the criminal justice system . The cases that shaped that career and lives impacted are the subject .
