James Nash

I am a Buffalo-based litigator who manages a diverse caseload including personal injury matters, employment-related disputes and business litigation. I have successfully tried cases ranging from routine slip-and-fall accidents in state court to complex environmental litigation in federal court. A large majority of my trials have produced favorable verdicts for my clients. Some of the awards I've been honored to receive include: • Martindale-Hubbell rated me "AV Preeminent"​ (the highest rating for legal ability and ethics based on surveys completed by other attorneys and judges). • Buffalo Business First honored me as one of its "40 Under 40" recipients. • The Buffalo Law Journal highlighted me as a "Legal Elite"​ on multiple occasions. • Super Lawyers magazine has listed me since 2014. I try to stay active in the Buffalo legal community. I have had the honor of serving as President of the Western New York Trial Lawyers Association, which is the only local organization that advocates on behalf of plaintiff and defense counsel. I have also chaired the Negligence Committee for the Bar Association of Erie County. This is one of the Bar Association's largest committees. In 2015, I was elected a Director of the Bar Association and served a three-year term. I have also had the honor of serving as the Town Prosecutor and Assistant Town Attorney for the Town of Hamburg. Many Western New York attorneys have also used me to arbitrate their personal injury cases. They find that this is an easy and cost-effective way to resolve lawsuits. I also enjoy speaking to other attorneys and insurance professionals at seminars relating to personal injury cases and insurance law. Education is a very important factor in any person's life. At Canisius High School, I have served as the President of its Board of Governors, chaired the selection committee for its Distinguished Alumni Hall of Honor and served on its Capital Campaign Committee. I also had the privilege of serving on the Board of Directors for the BISON Children's Scholarship Fund, which awards nearly $2,000,000 in scholarships to underprivileged children each year.
