About James B Berglund
Soon after I graduated from the University of Santa Clara School of Law I went to work for the Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office as a Deputy DA. After 3 years I moved to the Santa Cruz DA's office where I worked as an Assistant DA for 10 years. In 1990 I moved to Butte County and that DA's office. Six months later I was hired to become a partner with a local attorney who was appointed to the local Superior Court in 1996. I have been a solo attorney since that time. I now specialize in Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and Wills and Trusts estate planning. Most of my time is devoted to PI and Criminal cases. I have personally handled over 100 jury trials including major felony cases (2 capital murder cases, multiple other serious felonies) and large personal injury cases against some of the largest insurance companies and corporations in Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Tehema, Butte, Los Angeles and Mendicino Counties. On a more personal level,I am also on the Legal Steering Committee for Safari Club International, am an avid hunter and fisherman and live in an all solar powered, off the grid house with a great wife. I am also blessed with two wonderful grown kids that I am very proud of.
