About James Aste
I've always had a fascination with science and how it impowers us to develop deeper understandings of how the universe around us works. Our modern world would not be possible without the hundreds of thousands of scientist who advance our technologies and way of life. I have a particular interest in chemistry but I find all fields of scientific research worthy of attention. I'm currently researching how varying organic-silane compounds such as allyltrimethylsilane and trimethyl(2-methylallyl)silane along with tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane catalyze and affect the cyclization of the sugar galactitol under the guidance of my professor Dr. Jen Dabrowski, primarily using nuclear magnetic resonance to characterize reactions and their products.
