Jack Gordon

I am a commercial litigator with substantial experience in all areas of complex commercial litigation and arbitration. I also devote a significant percentage of my practice to executive employment and employee benefits/employee rights. Finally, I and other members of my firm possess expertise in restaurant and hospitality industry law. We offer 'soup to nuts' representation of restaurateurs, wine bar owners, hospitality management companies, developers, investors and others in or seeking to enter the hospitality industry. I am a Fellow of the Society of Fellows of The Culinary Institute of America. I teach a unit on the legal aspects of opening a restaurant to graduate students at The Institute of Culinary Education. I am a professor for LawLine, the country's largest on-line Continuing Legal Education provider, as well as for The National Business Institute. In March of 2017 I was a lecturer at the NYC Bar Association on the subject of Opening a Restaurant in New York, and in November of 2017 I was a guest lecturer to Columbia University MBA candidates taking a course entitled Food Entrepreneurship. I am a chair emeritus of the NY City Bar Association Hospitality Law Committee, as well as President of the Wine & Food Society of New York. I am also a Commandeur of The Commanderie de Bordeaux, a Confrére of the Commanderie des Costes du Rhône, a board member of The Society of Wine Educators, a Knight of the Cavalieri del Tartufo e dei Vini di Alba, a member of the Essex County Wine Society and the Essex Fells Area Wine Tasting Society, among others. I am AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell (I have held this distinction since 1999) and so is Kent, Beatty & Gordon, LLP. I am also regularly named a top commercial litigator by Avenue Magazine, and, since 2013, I have been named a Top 100 Lawyer and a New York Metro Area Super Lawyer.
