About Ilan Markus
I have provided counsel to and litigated matters for businesses across a broad range of industries, including financial institutions, biomedical companies, lenders and equipment lessors, managed services providers, telecommunications companies, health care providers, landlords, tenants, retailers, and hotels. During my career, I have litigated and resolved disputes involving complex commercial issues and multimillion-dollar claims. I have handled matters in bankruptcy cases and other types of insolvency cases, including assignments for the benefit of creditors in Florida, New York, Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. My experience in insolvency matters spans the spectrum of parties-in-interest and includes representation of debtors, creditors, secured lenders, landlords, equipment lessors, creditors’ committees, trustees, assignees for the benefit of creditors, and purchasers. For several years, I was the leader of LeClairRyan's Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights team, which grew to become one of the largest Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights teams in the country. In early 2017, I stepped aside from that leadership position to spend additional time and energy focusing on my clients and my practice.
