About Heather Adelman
I bring decades of experience advising companies and executives on employment and workplace matters. My work focuses on partnering with companies and individuals to address employment issues thoughtfully and proactively, before they become larger problems. I advise employers and executives on matters ranging from employment and separation agreements to executive compensation and restrictive covenants, always with an eye toward protecting my clients while helping them move forward with confidence. I work closely with business leaders and in-house counsel to build strong, compliant workplaces. That includes advising on federal and state employment laws, helping companies develop clear policies and procedures, and drafting employee handbooks that reflect both legal requirements and organizational values. My goal is to make compliance feel manageable, not overwhelming. Training and education are also central to my practice. I regularly work with management teams and employees to provide practical, approachable training on issues like harassment prevention, wage and hour compliance, workplace conduct, and leave and accommodation obligations. When concerns arise, I am often asked to conduct internal investigations involving discrimination complaints, whistleblower reports, or other sensitive workplace matters, handling each with discretion and care. Before launching my own employment law practice, I spent years practicing at leading law firms, including Hartmann Doherty Rosa Berman & Bulbulia, DLA Piper, Gibbons, and Holland & Knight. Those experiences continue to inform my collaborative, business-minded approach and my commitment to being a steady, trusted advisor to my clients. How I help clients: • Drafting and negotiating employment, severance, and separation agreements • Advising on executive compensation and restrictive covenants • Ensuring compliance with federal and state employment laws • Counseling on harassment, discrimination, and retaliation issues • Conducting internal workplace investigations • Providing management and employee training • Developing and updating employee handbooks and policies • Advising on hiring, termination, and performance management • Counseling on FMLA, ADA, and wage and hour compliance
