I have more than 35 years of experience handling an extremely broad array of sophisticated employee benefits issues for public and private companies, including pension, profit sharing and 401(k) plans. I have extensive experience with non-qualified deferred compensation and equity based executive compensation plans, including severance agreements and arrangements for tax-exempt organizations. I also represent ESOP trustees and sponsors in numerous transactions, and frequently work with business owners regarding business succession and other exit strategies. Additionally, I represent employers in connection with multi-employer withdrawal liability. My legal practice has a particular focus on Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs); IRS, Department of Labor and Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) audits of retirement plans; retirement plan issues faced by financially troubled companies; fiduciary liability and ERISA compliance; executive equity and non-qualified compensation plans and agreements.
