I am a defense-side labor lawyer in the national and nationally recognized Labor/Management Relations practice at Morgan Lewis & Bockius. I cover all aspects of labor management defense, including counseling, litigation, and arbitration. I place a particular emphasis at Morgan Lewis on "traditional labor" matters, such as union-related matters and employees engaging in concerted activity at work, whether or not a union is involved. I was proud to be a public servant -- a Member of the National Labor Relations Board, a federal agency in existence since 1935, authorized by Congress to protect employee rights and promote the peaceful resolution of labor issues. I was nominated by President Obama and confirmed by the Senate as one of the Republican-designated Board Members. My term ended on August 27, 2015, and I chose not to seek renomination. During that time, I was involved on a number of notable cases, including one that went all the way to the Supreme Court (Epic Systems v.
