George Joseph

Mr. Joseph limits his practice to Education Law, Labor and Employment Law, and Workers' Compensation Law. Mr. Joseph serves as solicitor to five area School Districts as general solicitor, the local Intermediate Unit, two School Districts as special education counsel, as well as numerous diocesan schools and non-public secondary schools. Among his sub-specialties is the litigation of special education and related services issues on behalf of school districts. He is responsible for providing legal advice on the full range of issues which come before school entities. He also serves as solicitor for a local authority and as an Assistant Solicitor for Erie County. Mr. Joseph has been involved in labor and employment matters, including grievance arbitration, employee benefits, company policies and handbooks, employment discrimination and unemployment compensation issues. Mr. Joseph also advises public and private sector clients on matters of labor and employment law, including grievance arbitration, employment practices and discrimination claims and has negotiated collective bargaining agreements under the Pennsylvania Employee Relations Act. In addition to these practices, Mr. Joseph has handled litigation of all of the Workers' Compensation Petitions before Workers' Compensation Judges, the Workers' Compensation Appeal Board, as well as the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Joseph is keenly aware of the risk management and loss control prevention program components necessary for effective and successful Workers' Compensation claims management and administration. Mr. Joseph is a frequent lecturer on topics in education, employment law and workers’ compensation.
