About Geoffrey Washington
With more than 25 years of courtroom experience, Geoffrey Washington is a veteran of business and commercial disputes throughout the lifecycle of a business—from shareholder/partner disputes and business separations, intellectual property/employment covenants litigation, zoning matters to and including estates and trusts litigation. His dedication to client matters earned him the Attorney Advocate of the Year Award from the Maryland Small Business Administration in 2022 and inclusion on the list of Best Lawyers of America for 2023 in Commercial Litigation. He was also named a Maryland Bar Fellow in 2018. Since 2018, when he was appointed by Senate President Bill Ferguson, Geof has served as Chairman of the Board for the South Baltimore Gateway Partnership, a nonprofit that “provides a nimble and flexible vehicle for enhancing the vitality of the South Baltimore Gateway neighborhoods, empowering community institutions and improving the welfare of the residents.” From 2008 – 2018, he served on the Baltimore City Board of Municipal and Zoning Appeals, including eight years as Chair. A longtime resident of Baltimore’s Riverside neighborhood, Geof served as President of the Federal Hill Preparatory School Parent-Teacher Organization, Inc. from 2019 – 2021. Geof is a member of the Maryland Bar Association, Baltimore City Bar Association, and Monumental Bar Association, and is barred in Maryland (1997), U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland (1998), U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit (2010), and U.S. District Court of the District of Columbia (2011).
