The core of my experience is focused on the following primary practice areas: • Litigation of complex trust and probate disputes, representation of trust and estate creditors, Representation in conservatorship and guardianship matters, prosecution of financial elder abuse, and trust, probate, conservatorship and guardianship administration in the Probate and Civil Divisions of the San Diego Superior Court and the California Court of Appeals. • Work in association with Private Professional Fiduciaries, Trust Officers, CPAs, and Financial Planners providing estate, business, and tax planning advice to their agents and clients. • Serve as Pro Tem Judge in the San Diego Superior Court, Probate Division in temporary assignments as directed by the Court. • Serve as Court Appointed Counsel in the San Diego Superior Court, Probate Division as directed by the Court. • Mediate complex trust, probate, conservatorship and guardianship disputes. • Develop and execute estate plans, business continuation plans, funding strategies, and post death administration for both low and high net worth individuals and businesses. • Provide business and tax planning strategies, which include entity formation and buy/sell agreements, and assist in implementing those strategies. • Negotiate the sale and/or purchase of business interests, and the acquisition and management of commercial real estate. • Represent clients in tax controversy and problem resolution before the California Franchise Tax Board and the Internal Revenue Service, including potential representation before the Appeals Division of the IRS and the U.S. Tax Court. • Prepare California and U.S. Individual, Small Business, Fiduciary and Estate tax returns.
