Eric Miles

Mr. Miles is a partner at Starnes Davis Florie LLP and a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He focuses on civil litigation matters, including the defense of medical providers in health care liability actions. Mr. Miles has extensive jury trial experience, having successfully defended numerous cases involving multimillion dollar claims as lead counsel or co-counsel. Mr. Miles has received Martindale-Hubbell’s highest rating of “AV – Preeminent.”Mr. Miles was raised in New England. After graduating from The Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts, he attended Birmingham-Southern College in Alabama. Mr. Miles graduated in 1995 with a degree in English. He then attended Tulane University’s School of Law in New Orleans and graduated cum laude in 1998. After law school, he returned to Birmingham to begin his legal career at Lange, Simpson, Robinson & Somerville (now Adams & Reese), where he practiced for over three years. Mr. Miles then practiced with North, Pursell & Ramos, PLC in Nashville, Tennessee from January 2002 through July 2026. He joined Starnes Davis Florie LLP as a partner in August 2026.Mr. Miles is active in professional and civic organizations. He is a member of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel. He served on the District Five Investigating Committee of the Tennessee Board of Law Examiners. He has twice served as a mentor to recently licensed attorneys through the Tennessee Bar Association’s Mentoring Program. He is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association as well as a member, and former Secretary, of the Nashville Bar Association. He volunteered as a mentor with Middle Tennessee Big Brothers Big Sisters for over five years. He attends the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Nashville, where he previously served as an elected member of the Parish Council. Mr. Miles enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, playing softball, attending sporting events and traveling.
