After more than 25 years of practicing matrimonial and family law, one of the things I am most excited about is the meditation room at my office. Life in general is a whirlwind of emotions and activity. It’s especially overwhelming for clients when they walk through our doors to discuss an impending divorce. Giving people the opportunity to take a moment to breathe and get grounded in a calmer environment helps them to make reasonable decisions. I think of myself as more than a lawyer, I’m a partner in a journey. When it comes to divorce, there’s always something on the table that a client absolutely wants to have, that they want to fight for, and I do fight for my clients. I’m their biggest advocate, but what I do goes beyond being a lawyer, it’s more holistic for me. I enjoy helping people transition to healing. There’s nothing more fulfilling than being able to educate a client and engage them to take part in their case and the life that is happening around them that they still have to live. We know that the end result is going to be divorce, but with every client it’s the process of how we get there that matters most.I try to approach life with an attitude of gratitude and enjoy giving back for all of the wonderful things in my life through volunteer work. When I’m not working or volunteering I’m soaking up as much time as I can from my three adult children, enjoying life with my husband, and surrounding myself with spiritual people. Life is too short to be surrounded by selfish people.
